A Thousand Poems

A VALENTINE EPISTLE PIECE BY:

I could write a thousand poems, just to tell you how I feel

I could put them in a song, just to let you know it’s real

I could start dropping hints, for the time is almost due

Due for me to tell you, how much I love you

I could reach for the stars, and bring one to your door

It would make me very happy, and you as well I’m sure

I could sail fifty seas, to stop you from feeling blue

But there’ll be nothing more simple than saying, I love you.

If this is how I feel, surely you feel the same way

Quite silly of me to assume, so I’d rather hear you say,

That you could write a thousand poems, just to prove your feelings true

But there’ll be nothing more simple than saying, I too, love you.
