Faith and Love: The Journey III

Final Destination

“…Go in the power of the Lord, see you next week Sunday” said the preacher as he raised his hands over the congregation to bless them. The church service was one of the best I’ve been in a long time. The choir gave a ministration which will give the angels a run for their money, at a point in the service I could bet I was in heaven.

After the service, I clutched my hand written notes to my chest as if to guard the only key to a well sought after treasure chest. Though they may not be literal keys, it contained guidance on how to approach relationships with a Godly perspective. These could not have come at a better time as we had just ended a month long teaching service on the topic, preaching from one of Archbishop Agyin-Asare’s bestselling books; “Single and Not Ashamed: Choosing A Mate” .

I just could not help but ponder to myself how my life would have been made so much easier if I had read this book earlier.  Just as I was about to leave, I spotted the Christian sister who had smiled to me from across the auditorium when the preacher asked us to turn to our neighbors to make some spiritual pronouncements. Her smile felt like a radiant sunrise that so happens to be contagious while soothing the soul and warms the spirit. I walked towards her with my Bible in hand and my figurative keys still close to my chest, poised to give this another go, let’s hope to unlock her heart, the right way this time, wish me luck.

With my hands extended and wearing the biggest smile I could, “Hello my name is Reynolds”.
