Faith and Love: The Journey I

After a stressful week, I decided to drive up the Aburi mountains. There had been much happening at my job earlier in the week coupled with me going through a lot. Looks like the only reward for hard work to most African bosses is to drown you in more work. I just needed an escape.

I couldn’t resist the urge to witness the scenic view of lights tapered over Accra, for my indulgence. I just had to see it. Well, it looked like I got there too early cos there was absolutely no one else but me. But I could finally understand why many would drive for miles just to get here. The lightenings looked otherworldly; like an exact replica of the stars shone from above and I could bet my last pesewa I saw Orion’s Belt from amongst them.

After a while, it seemed my solitude wasn’t going to be so for much longer as a car parked close by and out came a lady. As she stepped out, I thought “Wow, this is indeed a creation after God’s own image and moulded directly with my rib!” I had to count mine just to be sure.

She mumbled a “Hello”, I responded with same and then quiet. After a brief moment of awkward silence which felt like eternity, I said to her “Wouldn’t this be a nice story to tell our kids?”  With a puzzled look, she was like “Excuse me. Sorry, what do you mean?” I repeated, “Wouldn’t this be a nice story to tell our kids about how I met their mother?”

She let out a bright smile and I stretched out my hand to her and said; “Hello my name is Reynolds”.
