Persecution Rebranded? II

There are very serious attacks that need to be responded to urgently but delicately, otherwise Acts 1:8 will never be a reality in our lives. If there was a time where boldness and discipline is needed urgently, it is now. Boldness, to speak up on issues of immorality and discipline to not be perpetuators of the very acts we condemn, delicately handling this to ensure that we condemn the sins and not the sinners. In the midst of reaction, our love for lost souls must not grow cold.

On the issue of growing cold, Matthew 24:12 tells us that because of the multiplication of lawlessness, the love of many will grow cold. A chilling sign of the end times. If you’d take the time to analyze yourself and realize that you no longer desire God and fellowship with His people as much as you used to, I’m afraid to announce that this scripture is becoming a reality in your life.

The solution to being cold is an object or person of warmth, emphasizing the importance of other believers in our lives. Surrounding ourselves with other believers helps us to stay on fire through their prayers and encouragement. If you do not have this environment, find one and find one now. Getting out of these situations is extremely hard on your own. And if you find yourself on fire at this point, you owe it to the one who lit you up to ignite that same fire in someone else. Spend some time in prayer for struggling believers worldwide and encourage those close to you to stand firm.

Nothing I have said so far is new, as the Bible tells us that we aren’t ignorant of the enemy’s devices (2 Corinthians 2:11). We tend to be forgetful sometimes and hence need to remind ourselves of these truths constantly.

Whenever truth is hidden, falsehood spreads and because the truth is unknown, falsehood is accepted as truth, deceiving multitudes in the process. Let’s take note that the moment we keep quiet, we’re allowing falsehood to spread. If we will read our Bibles more often and obey what is written, we will be better prepared to face whatever tactics the devil might throw at us.
