I was about getting on my routine exercise one morning when something interesting caught my eyes. It got me standing, head gazed into the sky for minutes, waiting to see what would happen next.
It was nothing short of a beautiful display, a regular bird doing what it was created to do; fly.
How the bird flew – got me glued; with wide-open wings it soared, and successively flapped aggressively to remain affixed at a particular point in the sky, not an inch forward nor backwards. I was in awe. What kind of aerodynamics was this? I thought to myself as I kept my gaze fixed on this creature.
As I beheld this beauty, my thoughts travelled back in time to my childhood days, when after watching the hero – “Superman”, I would run around the compound of the house with a cape of joy and outstretched arms hoping that I would be lifted off the ground someway, somehow. The joy of those childhood days was indeed impeccable.
Though then, I had a layer of doubt about soaring and the possibility of being lifted off the ground, now I have a stronger conviction that soaring is indeed possible.
Imperatively, I have outgrown the “Superman” fantasy. Soaring means much more!
Soaring now means having freedom to pursue one’s true purpose, being able to achieve life goals, being untouchable, predominant, making up no excuses to cover up failures. The modern day dictionary defines “soaring” as a rapid increase above the usual level. Almost as having little or no fears in any endeavour.
Isaiah 40 verse 31, describes soaring perfectly as it pinpoints the heights one can attain if one perseveres through their wait upon the Lord.
The scripture reads;
31 “but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.”
Think of it this way; how can anyone hold you back when you are beyond reach?
People make up excuses and stories to cover up their failures; “My family was poor”, “I couldn’t get into university”, “I’m a dropout”, “I’m an outcast”, “I have nothing” or “Probably someone is bewitching me”.
There are a lot of people who went through worse and they came out “soaring”. Many forget that a number of God’s soldiers were once broken yet soared through their respective challenges.
David was a murderer, Sampson a womaniser, Joseph was abused and imprisoned yet became the Prime Minister of Egypt, Moses had a speech impediment and still led God’s people, Gideon was a coward who needed several validations to affirm God’s backing, Rahab was a prostitute, Jonah was disobedient and still fulfilled his God given purpose and so many others who went through peril before coming out on top. Our own Archbishop of the Perez Chapel International (Dr. Charles Agyinasare), persevered through quagmires and dragged his weak body (with the help of God) out of the squalors of life. We see the glory today and we want it now, but it began somewhere.
We all have big dreams, but it takes your decision after waking up from that slumber, whether you want to get up and work on making your revelation a reality or you want to pull the blanket over your head and sleep just a little more.
In the end, never forget that tomorrow’s actions depend on today’s decisions.
If you want to soar, first learn to fly.

Very inspiration and very helpful. Today I am stopping blaming people for not helping me out. I am going to work and fully depend on God’s work.
