Night Times. Ought You Stand?

Today, I want to encourage somebody who may be doubting God or their walk with Christ and are on the verge of giving up because of what they are going through. Often, we Christians believe, that going through trials, troubles or tribulations is not part of the Lord’s plan for us so we tend to ask God “why me?” when our faith is tried.

One thing we ought to know and understand is that; Jesus never promised a trouble-free life as Christians. Instead, it is written and indicated a couple of times in the bible that the Christian will go through troubles for our faith.

A typical example is the story of Job; the Bible says he was a blameless man, yet the Lord permitted the enemy to touch him. It is written in Mark 10:29-30 that anyone who has given up things, family for Jesus’s sake and the Good News will receive a hundredfold along with persecution.

Now what as Christians we should know is that; trials, tribulations and persecutions come to refine our faith and make us worthy of the Kingdom of God (Acts 14:22, 1 Peter 1:7). Amazingly, 1 Cor 10:13 tells us the temptations that come our way are not so hard that we can’t handle, and God always gives us a way out so we can endure.

These are night times but be assured that night doesn’t last forever for in Gen 1 it is written “…and evening passed, and morning came”. It’s about time we understood that these night times do not come because God loves some more than others, but they come to strengthen our faith, refine us and to make us ready for the Lord Jesus’ coming.

Therefore, we must all endeavor not to be weak in heart but with His strength endure these night times victoriously while still standing in our faith in Christ, proving to the world and the enemy that NOTHING will make us renounce our faith in Christ Jesus ever.

The Lord bless us all as we stand firm and immovable for Him as the solid rock foundation. To conclude, I leave us with Matt 5:10 ‘Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven’.
