God Calling

I saw her as she hurried past,

Tears welling up in her navy blue eyes,

One milli second and those tears,

Would come rushing down,

I could tell she had a lot on her mind.

She heaved a big sigh,

And said a silent prayer,

She knew God was calling.

Calling her to let go of her past.

Calling her to get past the crowd.

Silence the voices,

Including the ones in her head,

And run into the Father’s arms.

But how could she answer the call?

Knowing all that is before her,

The life she would have to give up,

And the battles she would have to fight,

Her spirit was willing but her flesh fought harder.

I knew I had to comfort her,

Assure her the call was worth it.

So I drew near and spoke these words;

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future“.

She smiled slightly and responded, “Jeremiah 29:11”

I nodded and continued; I see your fears,

“But you are a Chosen Generation, a Royal Priesthood, a Holy nation, a People for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” 1 Peter 2:9

Suddenly, those tears turned into tears of joy,

And the doubts turned into mountain-moving faith. And with that,

She ran as fast as her stumpy legs could carry her,

Relentlessly, without looking back, she ran straight into the Father’s arms.

She fought the good fight. She kept the faith. Yes, she answered the call.

Now dear reader, it’s your turn,

God is calling …

For some of you, God is calling you into,

Something deeper,

Calling you to let go of the lukewarmness,

Calling you into your ministry,

Calling you into a neck-deep relationship,

Until you are completely “drowned” in Him.

You don’t get called because of your past,

You get called because of your future.

But question is, how fast will you answer?
